Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge
This year Whitehouse will be entering the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge, the world’s largest junior tournament, which attracts over 65,000 entries.
The children from Whitehouse Chess Club will be competing to find the top players at our school. The champions will go on to the County Championship, hoping to put Whitehouse on the chess map.
Success at the County Championship would mean a chance at the Nationals where prize money of over £12,000 is up for grabs.
Whitehouse Chess Club meets every Wednesday lunch time and is open to all players. Chess is an easy to learn (hard to master!) battle game that teaches thinking skills, logic, attention to detail and discipline. It is also a lot of fun!
