We are the Giraffes
Class teacher: Mr C Fenelon
Class TA: Mrs E Wilcox
Welcome back! I hope you have all had a lovely holiday and break and you are all raring to learn for our last term in year 1.
Congratulations to the Giraffes.
Not only have we won the KS1 cup two weeks in a row for having the best class attendance but last week we had the best attendance in the whole school. Well done everyone! Keep up the good work, we really want to see you in school every day!
The Giraffes have their class assembly on Friday the 3rd of March. It will start at 2:40 pm. Parents are welcome to come along to see what we have been learning.
Please make sure your child has both indoor and out PE kits in school every Monday.
In science we have been learning all about plants. We have planted beans and just look at how they have begun to grow!
Can you tell someone the instructions to plant a bean or a seed?
Have a look around your garden. Can you find a plant and name the different parts?
As part of our science and topic we have been learning about the weather. We have made some excellent rain gauges.
Some of the things we get up to.
April the Giraffe is due to give birth to her live young. As we have been learning all about animals including mammals why not check in on her to see how she is doing?
Has she had her calf yet?
We're sheep up on the hill top... Baa!
Looking fantastic as sheep in the KS1 Nativity this year. Thank you to all of the parents who came to watch us.
We have been learning how to meditate. As part of our classroom practice, when the children come in from lunch, we go through our minute meditation. We are learning how to focus on our breathing and ourselves so that we are fresh, focused and ready for the afternoon. The children have asked me to pop the video up on here so that they can practise at home.
We have been learning about Guy Fawkes and writing poems about the fireworks. Here is some of our fantastic art work.
We have started our topic, ‘Pirates’. Here are some of our very own pirates!
