Great Fire of London Workshops

2nd February 2018

Great Fire of London Workshops – Year 1

Dear Parent/Carer,

Our next topic in Key Stage One is ‘The Great Fire of London’. To introduce the children to this topic we have organised for a company to come and run drama workshops for each class. These workshops will take place on Tuesday 27th February 2018.

We hope that the workshops will be an exciting introduction to the topic and will give the children an opportunity to learn about the fire. The children will experience the London of 1666 as they recreate life in Pudding Lane, become the fire as it grows and spreads, meet the famous diarist Samuel Pepys and debate the rebuilding of the city.

The activities will take place during normal school times and your child can follow their usual lunchtime routine.

To assist with the cost of this event we would ask parents to please make a voluntary contribution of £4.00 per child. Please complete the below permission slip and return with the money by Friday 23rd February. You can now pay for your child’s trip online through Suffolk County Council’s website:

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely
