We have been learning how to add and subtract on a number line.

First we partition the number we are adding or subtracting to see how many jumps of 10s we will make before jumping in our 1s.

Have a look at the number line diagrams before you have a go at the addition and subtraction number sentences.

Number Gators (Greater Than, Less Than Symbols Song)

The Number Gators are hungry! This twangy, toe-tapping math song for kids helps explain the concept of the greater than and less than symbols when comparing numbers.

We have been learning how to experiment with =

To understand that = means 'the same as'

Using 10s and 1s  to help can you find other number sentences to match, that are the same as, to = these number sentences?

8 + 2 = __ + 6             14 + 3 = 10 + __

4 + 6 = 5 + __             18 + 6 = __ + 4

3 + 7 = __ + 2             16 + 3 = 15 + __

25 + 3 = 30 - __

26 - 3 = 13 + __

We have been learning how to recognise UK coins and to add them together to find our total amount.
