Maths

Week commencing 7th March

Year 3 have been learning a new method for multiplying. It is called 'Grid method' and below is an example of how we use it in Year 3 to multiply 2 and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit. Some children have even been using it to multiply 2-digit numbers by 2-digit.

Telling time

Many of you find telling the time a bit tricky, particularly on an analogue clock (one with a face and hands!). Ask someone at home to test you - find a clock and tell them what the time is. Can you tell them what the time will be in half an hour? Quarter of an hour? 20 minutes?

Examples of what we have been doing in maths

You can use these to practice what we have been doing at home - use the method to help you design your own challenge questions.
