PE Premium

PE Premium

The Government has invested over £450 million on improving Physical Education (PE) in schools over the last 4 years. Each school is given an amount of money, based on the number of pupils within school, to spend on developing Physical Education. Schools can choose how they use the funding, for example to:

  • hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with primary teachers during PE lessons,
  • support and involve the least active children by running after-school sports clubs and holiday clubs,
  • provide resources and training courses in PE and sport for teachers,
  • organise sports competitions or increase pupils’ participation in PE,
  • arrange sports activities with other schools.

At Whitehouse Community Primary School we are committed to spending the PE Premium in a sustainable way that will impact on the health and wellbeing of our children. We want to raise participation and attainment in PE across our school.

Mr Jordan is our new PE Co-ordinator and was appointed in September 2017. He has evaluated how the PE Premium funding was spent in 2016-2017 and planned how the funding will be spent across the school for 2017-2018, alongside the Headteacher.
