Pupil Voice at WHCPS - our approach

At Whitehouse, we are keen to provide pupils with opportunities to have a say in the decisions which affect them.

This is done through regular survey as well as through a number of pupil-representing bodies such as the School Council, the TOAST Team, the Prefects and more recently the Junior Road Safety Officers and the Sports Prefects.

Involving pupils in the life of the school enable them to feel valued and provides them with opportunities to develop important life skills such as communication, problem solving, team work, leadership etc which will serve them well in adult life.

Pupil representatives are recruited either through applying for a position (Prefects, TOAST Team, Junior Road Safety Officers and Sports Prefects) or by being voted in (School Parliament)  This gives students the chance to learn more about the recruitment process as well as about Democracy.

We are currently in the process of hiring our TOAST Team as well as our new Sports Prefects for the next academic year.

We have received a number of applications from our current Year 4 to 5 pupils and are looking forward to interviewing the short-listed candidates within the next few weeks.  It would be great if parents could take this opportunity to talk to their child about the recruitment process and what it entails as well as discuss with their son or daughter what they want to be in the future.  Advice on how you could help your child choose his/her future career can be found below.
