Saturday 5th December 2020
Dear Parents/Carers of KS1 children,
Thank you for your support and understanding as we put in place measures to try to keep all members of our school community as safe as possible in these most challenging of times.
As you are aware from previous correspondence, whilst we care passionately about the education of every child in our school, the health and safety of the children, staff and all members of our school community is paramount and must be at the forefront of every decision made.
Today we have had two cases of coronavirus confirmed for individuals within KS1 and are awaiting some further test results. Although the individuals have not been close contacts of the children, we will need to ensure that an additional deep clean of the KS1 area is completed as soon as possible. In addition, as staffing ratios have fallen below the acceptable level in KS1, we have made the difficult decision to close Cobras, Frogs, Elephants and Lions on Monday 7th December.
Whilst we recognise and appreciate the challenges this decision may have for families, we ask that you please understand the ever-changing picture with regard to coronavirus that we are faced with daily and please be assured that the decision to close classes is never taken lightly. This is a temporary measure and I will do all that I can to safely re-open the classes on Tuesday 8th December.
Please note, home learning opportunities will be available on Tapestry to support your child in continuing their learning journey whilst their class is closed and learning menus can be found on our website: https://www.whcps.org/blended-learning-at-whitehouse/
In addition, the flu jab scheduled for Monday 7th December has now been rescheduled for Thursday 17th December.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding.
