End of Term Arrangements for Year 6 – Advance Warning
Dear Parents and Carers of Children in Year 6,
I do hope this letter finds you well. I thought I would take the opportunity to provide parents with advance warning regarding our plans to celebrate the children’s final year at primary school (Covid-19 permitting).
Mersea
Unfortunately, due to continued restrictions with Covid-19 we will be unable to organise the residential visit to Mersea as planned and will be issuing refunds shortly. However, we are looking into the possibility of booking the activity centre for day trips instead, so that the children can spend a day taking part in outdoor and adventurous activities (to be confirmed).
Leavers Hoodies
We will be offering the children an opportunity to purchase leavers’ hoodies. The cost of these will be £11.00 - £14.50 depending on size. A booking form will be sent home after the Easter Break.
End of Year Play
We are going to attempt to organise an end of year play as we feel this is an important part of the children’s Year 6 school life. There will be two plays (exactly the same play and scripts) but with two casts. We do not know what Covid restrictions will be in place in July but hope that we will be able to either film the plays or perform them outside, to allow parents/carers to attend but we will wait for further guidance. More information will be shared as soon as everything has been finalised.
High School Transition
The High Schools are currently organising their plans for transition and we will update parents as soon as we have any further information.
It is important to us that the children continue to work hard to catch-up on lost learning but also to enjoy some end of term activities that they will remember.
We thank you for your continued co-operation.
With Regards
Mrs A Hall
