6.00 pm on the 19th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday the Government announced that at the end of the day, on 20th March, schools will close until further notice, except for the children of key workers and vulnerable children, as part of the country’s ongoing response to Coronavirus.
At the time of writing, the exact full list of key workers has not been published. Vulnerable children include those who have a Social Worker and those with an Education, Health and Care Plan – a legal document that describes a child’s Special Educational Needs and the support they require.
Children who do not fall into these groups should remain at home with appropriate care. For those children who do remain at home, we will add weekly activities onto the school website every Monday (apart from the designated school holidays) to support the continuation of the children’s learning. Please see your child’s class page for activities or their homework books for the first two weeks work. All the children have been given their log in and passwords for Times Table Rockstars, Education City and MyOn (KS2 only).
If you believe you are a key worker (as specified by the Department for Education), please make yourself known to the school by 12 noon on Friday 20th March via email to: email@example.com.
You will need to confirm:
• your child’s/children’s name,
• your child’s/children’s class,
• your current employer including role,
• the childcare days required from the 23rd March to 27th March (this will be reviewed weekly as we are aware most key workers work in shifts).
Please note we are working extremely hard to ensure that we have the staff available to fulfil this plan outlined by the Government, whilst trying to follow Government guidelines on social distancing. Therefore, in order to protect our staff from Coronavirus it is imperative that parents/carers and children do not enter the school building after 20th March, other than the children of key workers and vulnerable children by prearrangement with the school.
For the safety of our children and staff please follow the advice carefully.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Andrea Hall
