29-05-2020 Dinner Arrangements

Dinner Arrangements

Dear Parents / Carers,

We hope you are all keeping well and safe.  We look forward to welcoming some of our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 back into school next week and wanted to confirm some changes we have made to the dinner arrangements.

Meal Choices:

As previously stated, we will now be in a position to offer both hot dinners and a pick and mix option to children who are attending school (reception children have a pick and mix option only).  Please see the attached documents which show the new menus available.  You will note that pick and mix has been changed slightly and has become more of a ‘packed lunch’ with less options to choose from.  We are sure you will understand the need to make this change to ensure the safety of all on site.

Payment:

For those in Key Stage 2 who pay for school meals, we will only be able to accept payment online, which can be made with either a debit or credit card.  Payment can be made at the following link:

https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/children-families-and-learning/schools/school-meals-uniforms-and-trips/school-meals/

The system will ask which days your child requires dinner.  Please note you can put any dates, as we do not use this information, but will allocate the money each time your child has a school dinner.  Payment for dinners cannot be made for less than five days. We are sorry but at this time we are unable to accept payment by cash or cheque in school due to the need to lessen contact and reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19.

Free School Meal Vouchers:

With the children returning to school on a part-time basis we hope to still be able to offer the free school meal vouchers for the days the children are unable to eat in school.  This will be processed on a pro-rata basis, with £3.00 being allocated to each child per day they are not in school.  Please note however this will not be available should your child not attend the days they are due to be in school due to illness or any other reason, unless you advise us that the family are self-isolating.

We hope this clarifies the situation for the remainder of the summer term but if you do have any queries please contact us on parents@whcps.org and we will do all we can to assist.

Thank you for your continued support.

With regards

S McCullum

Senior Finance and Admin Officer.
