Blended Learning at Whitehouse 2020/2021
We are determined to keep all of our children on-track this year and make sure no one falls behind if they need to learn from home because of coronavirus. We are continuing to refine our practice and are developing new ways of enhancing our remote learning provision. In the event of a local lockdown, or should children/families/teachers/teaching assistants have to isolate for 14 days, we will ensure that learning opportunities for children working at home are provided. In order to support us in delivering this, we will be using our school website and learning platforms. Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will use ‘Google Classrooms’ and children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will use ‘Tapestry’.
All children in KS2 have been provided with a log in for google classrooms and have been shown how to use this new technology. Attached is a useful guide for parents supporting their children at home. If you need any additional support to log in to google classroom or would like to message the teacher about the learning, please contact the staff on: firstname.lastname@example.org (Years 5 and 6), and email@example.com (Years 3 and 4).
Tapestry will be the learning platform for EYFS and KS1. Teachers will upload a weekly ‘menu of learning’ to Tapestry, which mirrors the learning taking place in school. There will be links to stories, lessons and a range of activities that covers the full curriculum. Please upload photographs, work and learning comments in the usual way. If you are unable to contact the teachers through Tapestry, please contact the staff on: firstname.lastname@example.org (Years 1 and 2), and email@example.com (Nursery and Reception).
