British Sign Language

At Whitehouse Community Primary School, we are keen to equip our pupils with life skills which will serve them well in the future.

As a Rights Respecting School, we are committed to fight discrimination in all its forms (UNCRC Article 2) and ensure that ALL children, including those with disabilities (UNCRC Article 23), are made to feel welcome in our setting.

With this in mind, we are delighted to be able to offer an introduction to British Sign Language as an after-school club which has been well-received by children.

In the course of our 5 weeks, pupils will be learning:

- a bit about the history of BSL

the BSL Alphabet

- how to greet each other

- talking about feelings
