Year 2

Hello everyone,

We really hope you are all still keeping safe and learning a lot at home. Thank you for sending in your letters, poems, pictures of what you have been doing at home and even homework to us. We have been replying to those who have emailed parents@whcps.org or dropped some post into school.

Keep looking at the Year 2 page for 'home activities' to keep your child focused on learning whilst out of school. These pages will be updated every Monday with challenges and tasks for your child to do whilst being home schooled. All we ask is that your child does their best and remember all the skills they have learnt already.

Please remember to login to MyOn and Education City. Homework has been set for this week on Education City. We are enjoying reading your book reviews so please keep reading. We do know who is reading a lot!

Times Table Rock Stars and Numbots have the same username and passwords. If you login to these sites you will find various age appropriate activities have been set for your child. These will be updated weekly.

Below, in each subject page, weekly activities will be posted along with other fun and exciting links.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you all very soon.

The Year 2 Team.

Listen at eleven! laugh

David Walliams is releasing a free audio story every day.

The link is http://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

After hearing the story, your child/children could retell it, write about it, review it or create their own illustrations.

Happy listening!

Numbots is a new and exciting online Maths rescource. The link is the same as Times Tables Rock Stars (same username and password).

Many thanks,

Your Year 2 team.

Year 2 Out of school learning

Reading is so important. How many books are you reading with your child this week?

Maths is fun! We have been learning to multiply and link repeated addition with the calculation.

Can you find the mistake?

Science - Everyday material have been sorted into their properties. The children enjoyed the investigations.

Design and Technology - designing a drawbridge using a lever pulley system.
