Year 2 - Duxford IWM Trip
Dear Parents/Carers,
We have planned a visit to Duxford IWM on Wednesday 12th June 2024 in line with our current topic “Why did people try to fly?”
We will be leaving school at 9:00am so children will need to arrive at their usual class entrance at the slightly earlier time of 8:40am. We expect to return at approximately 3:00pm for you to pick up your child at the usual time.
For this visit, your child will need to wear their usual school uniform with comfortable footwear (e.g. trainers – not sandals / open toe shoes please). We will be outside for the much of the visit so your child will need to be prepared for either wet weather or sunshine - please pack a waterproof coat and a sun hat.
All children in Year 2 are entitled to a meal provided under the Universal Free School Meal funding. If you would like your child to be provided with a free school packed lunch please indicate on the attached form. Otherwise, please provide your child with a packed lunch and a drink (no glass bottles, sweets or fizzy drinks please).
This trip is a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience seeing a range of aeroplanes and to visit a museum. The cost of this trip is a voluntary contribution of £10.00 which covers the cost of coach travel and entry to the museum. Please note consent and payment can be made via Arbor or alternatively please complete the attached form and return to the office with your child’s name and Duxford Trip written clearly on the envelope.
At Whitehouse, we value the importance of trips as they help the children to engage with their learning and provide opportunities for the children to deepen their understanding through first hand experiences. Please remember that educational trips are not intended to be optional as they are part of our school curriculum.
Payments can be made either via the school office or on Arbor. Please return the enclosed consent form and indicate whether you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for your child by Thursday June 6th 2024.
If you have any questions about the trip please feel free to ask.
Thank you for your continued support.
