Year 2 – Framlingham Castle Trip
Dear Parents/Carers,
We have planned a visit to Framlingham Castle on Monday 11th November 2024 in line with our topic ‘What was life like living in a castle?’
We will be leaving school at 9:15am and expect to return at approximately 3:00pm for you to pick up your child at the usual time.
For this visit, your child will need to wear their usual school uniform with comfortable footwear (e.g. trainers). We will be outside for the much of the visit so your child will need to be prepared for cold or wet weather - please pack a warm waterproof coat.
All children in Year 2 are entitled to a meal provided under the Universal Free School Meal funding. If you would like your child to be provided with a free school packed lunch please indicate on the attached form. Otherwise, please provide your child with a packed lunch and a drink (no glass bottles, sweets or fizzy drinks please).
The visit will be a wonderful chance for the children to explore the castle and identify some of the things they will be learning about, to have a walk around the castle wall and take part in some archery activities. The cost of this trip is a voluntary contribution of £8.00 which covers the cost of coach travel and entry to the castle. Please note consent and payment can be made via Arbor or alternatively please complete the attached form and return to the office with your child’s name and Framlingham Trip written clearly on the envelope.
At Whitehouse, we value the importance of trips as they help the children to engage with their learning and provide opportunities for the children to deepen their understanding through first hand experiences. Please remember that educational trips are not intended to be optional as they are part of our school curriculum.
Payments can be made either via the school office or on Arbor. Please return the enclosed consent form and indicate whether you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for your child by Monday 4th November 2024.
If you have any questions about the trip please feel free to ask.
Thank you for your continued support.
