Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 197
Friday 24th June 2022
Message from Mrs Hall
There are four weeks until the end of the term and we are still expecting the children to continue working hard in all of their lessons; we still have lots to cover on the summer curriculum, so attendance at school is crucial. This week has continued to be very warm, please ensure that the children bring a water bottle to school and a sun hat. To avoid disappointment please check the school calendar for trips, visits and sports day times. Thank you for your continued support.
Attendance for the previous week
Class with the best attendance: Ocelots (98%)
Assemblies
The theme of our assemblies for next week will be: What is the Commonwealth? UNRC Link: Article 30: If I come from a minority group, because of my race, religion or language, I have the right to enjoy my own culture, practise my own religion and use my own language. Resources related to this assembly will soon be available on our website. To access them, simply go to Learning and click on our Enquiry Based Assemblies.
GB Athlete Visit
We are very excited to let you know that we are again having a visit from one of our GB athletes into school on Monday 4th July 2022. This year we will be visited by Gymnast Steve Frew, who won Scotland’s first ever gymnastics Commonwealth Games gold medal! He has attended five Commonwealth Games and represented Great Britain in two World Championships. We are sure that as with previous sportsperson visits, the children will find it a wonderfully fun day and will be inspired by all they hear and do. Please can we ask that ALL children come to school in PE kit that day.
School Prefects
A big well done to our new School Prefects who will take up their positions in September when they move into Year 6. Our Prefects are very important to the school as they help with a variety of tasks and set a good example to all the children at Whitehouse. Well done to:

Summer Fair
We are thrilled to let you know our popular Summer Fair is back again this year on Friday 15th July 2022 from 3.15pm to 5.15pm. If you are interested in having a stall, please send an email to pfa@whcps.org with the details. Stalls are £10.00 each. We are also looking for raffle prizes. If anyone is willing to donate or knows a company who would be willing to, that would be wonderful. We will be holding a non-uniform day on Monday 27th June and ask that the children bring in chocolate or something sweet that we can use for the tombola.
We are always looking for new people to join our Parents and Friends of Whitehouse Association. If you are interested, please email the team at pfa@whcps.org
