Message from Mrs Hall

We hope that you enjoyed reading your child’s annual report. We are extremely proud of the children and how hard they have worked to achieve their very best this year, thank you for your support. Please return any report reply slips to the school office as soon as possible so we know the reports have been received. If you would like to speak to a member of staff about your child’s progress please don’t hesitate to contact the school. All clubs have now finished for this year and I would to thank all the staff for giving up their time to offer these super opportunities for the children. We are already looking forward to next term and what new clubs may be organised! There will be one final newsletter on the last of term (Thursday 21st July) which will include this year’s Governor awards.  Thank you.

Year 1, 3 & 5 Active Lives Survey Reminder

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, we have been asked if we would take part in short Active Suffolk survey using Yr1, 3 and 5 pupils and parents as a cross section for our school.

Thank you to all of the Yr1, 3 and 5 parent/cares and pupils that have already completed the short survey! If you have not already done so, we would really appreciate your time and support to complete both the short 10-minute parent survey and your child’s year group survey. Simply follow the link below to access the online surveys. You may find it helpful to complete both of these surveys with your child.

Our school’s unique Active Lives Survey link: https://www.activesuffolk.org/whitehouseprimary

The deadline to complete both the parents and pupil surveys is Thursday 21st July 2022. Thank in advance for support and cooperation.

School Games Sports Mark

Following a two-year absence due to the pandemic, this year saw the return of the School Games Sports Mark Award. As with previous years, the Sports Mark award is awarded to schools based upon their level of engagement with the School Games programme. Additionally, the award also recognises the opportunities, participation/engagement and the quality of school’s PE/sport provision provided by schools to their pupils.

We are extremely proud to announce that, after all our hard work and effort within PE this year, as a school we have again successfully been awarded with a Gold Sports Mark Award.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank every pupil and staff for their efforts and hard work to support this year’s PE provision, and lastly to parents/carers for all of your continued support.

More Virtual Competition Success!

Following the success of the efforts of our Year 1 and 2 pupils in the KS1 Virtual Football competition, we were delighted to also be presented with two more winner’s trophies recently. The trophies were awarded for both our Year 3 and 4 and Year 5 and 6 girls for winning both of their Virtual Cross-Country competitions, which took place during the Autumn Term.

The Virtual Cross-Country event involved pupils across KS1 and KS2 taking part in a distance race around the school playground or field.  The individual times of quickest five pupils in each year group were then sent off to the to our School Games organiser as part of the competition against other schools.

Well done girls! The trophies will be proudly displayed on our trophy shelf in the main entrance to the school for all to see!

Purple Man Reading Competition

Well done to the classes who won the final week of the competition: Tigers and Toucans (Year 6), Lizards (Year 5), Hedgehogs (Year 4) and Foxes (Year 3).  We now know who the winners of the whole year are and who will win a McDonalds McFlurrie. So, big congratulations to:

Year 6: The Rotary Club

Each year we are very lucky that The Rotary Club kindly come into school to see our Year 6 children before they leave us and present each of the children with a beautiful book.

This year the children all received an Illustrated Children’s Encyclopaedia, which we are sure they will enjoy looking at.  A big thank you to Mr David Podd and The Rotary Club for the kindness and support they show to our children each year.

Summer Holiday Clubs

As well as the iCard which is available to all children, there are also a number of free activities which parents/carers can sign their child up for if they are eligible for Free School Meals.  On registering for the club, you will be asked for a unique 16 digit ‘Wonde’ code.  We will be sending these codes out to all parents/carers whose children are eligible for Free School Meals over shortly. So, if your child is eligible please keep an eye out for them on the Arbor app or to your email. You can see more information on the following link:  https://hafsuffolk.suffolk.gov.uk/

We have added a few clubs below that are amongst the many that are available.  Please be aware that many of the clubs also offer paid spaces for children who are not eligible for Free School Meals.
