For the next PE challenge, Ipswich & South Suffolk School Games and Dan 'The Skipping Man' have teamed up to set a virtual skipping challenge.
The challenge involves completing a variety of different skipping skills (KS1 = 3 skipping skills, KS2 = 5 skipping skills). To make things easier, and so that we do not have to complete all of the skipping skills in one go, Mr Jordan has broken the challenge down into three parts. Mr Jordan will be setting each part of the challenge separately.
The main aim of the challenge is not to compete against others, but instead to set yourself individual personal best targets to improve your skipping scores and skills. Please see below the instructions sheet and Mr Jordan's explanation video to find out how to complete the skipping challenge.
As this is a virtual event, Mr Jordan will be collating pupils’ scores from each of the three parts of the challenge. Therefore, copies of the score sheets for each part of the challenge can be found within the relevant folders below. Score sheets will be also be uploaded to Google Classroom for KS2 pupils to complete and submit their scores. KS1 pupils, once you have completed your score sheet, take a photo of it and send it Mr Jordan via the school office to parents@whcps.org.
Finally, Ipswich & South Suffolk School Games will be awarding prizes at the end of the challenge (all three parts), to pupils that have engaged and demonstrated the School Games values (Determination, Passion, Respect, Honesty, Self Belief, Team work) throughout the challenge. Mr Jordan would also like to celebrate your efforts with the challenge so don't forget, you can also send us a photo or video of your attempts at the skipping skills for us to upload to the 'Skipping Challenge' folder of the PE section of the website. Remember to send all photos and videos to the following link parents@whcps.org.
Don't forget to take a look at the videos of Mr Jordan's attempts at skipping skills during each part of the challenge.
Have fun, good luck and get skipping!
