Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 222

Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 222

Friday 24th February 2023

Message from Mrs Hall

Welcome back to another busy half-term at Whitehouse! There are lots of events, trips and visits scheduled so do look out for the letters on Arbor so that your child does not miss out (article 28: right to an education). We are really fortunate to have such dedicated staff at Whitehouse who give up their time to organise free clubs for the children. This half-term we have some new clubs that have not been offered such as Spanish, Eco-Club for KS1, Dance and Photography club. If you would like to child to attend one of our many clubs, please ensure that you return the reply slip as soon as possible. Please note the school will be open on the next scheduled NEU strike day and we are expecting all children to be in school as usual. Thank you for your continued support.

Attendance for the week before Half Term:

Class with the best attendance: Cobras (98.6%)

Assemblies

The theme of our assemblies for next week will be: We are Global Citizens: How many different nationalities do we have at Whitehouse? What do we do, as a school, to change what is happening in the world?  (UNRC Link: Article 7: I have the right to have a name and a nationality). Resources related to this assembly will soon be available on our website.  To access them, simply go to Learning and click on our Enquiry Based Assemblies.

Family Breakfast

We are very excited to let you know that starting Monday 27th February 2023 we will be holding a Family Breakfast each Monday from 8.00am to 8.30am. The first session will be for EYFS and KS1 (Year R, 1 and 2) children to come along with their parents/carers. Siblings are also welcome to come along, but please note children will need to remain under the supervision of parents/carers throughout the session. Together they will be able to enjoy a simple breakfast free of charge.  We think this will be a lovely start to the day for everyone.  Please come in to school via the KS1 playground and Mrs Gotts will be there to show you the way to the dining hall.  On the following Monday 6th March 2023, the session will be for children in KS2 (Years 3 to 6).  We look forward to seeing lots of you!

World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2023

It’s almost here…World Book Day will be on Thursday 2nd March this year.  Everyone in school looks forward to this special event where the sharing of books is celebrated.  You can find out more by following the link below on the theme for this year.  Please mark the date on your calendar and start thinking about the book character your child would like to dress up as.

Online Safety

Fornite is still one of the most popular games amongst primary school aged children.  It frequently features in top ten lists and is purported to regularly have 25 million daily players.  Internet Matters has made a parents/carers guide to Fortnite including areas of the game that should be regularly checked and monitored.  Click the link below to read more about this:
