Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 150

Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 150

Friday 23rd April 2021

Message from Mrs Hall

Have you changed your phone number or moved house?  If so, please ensure the School Office are updated as soon as possible.  Thank you.

We are delighted that 212 children chose to attend their class after-school club this week. There were a plethora of activities offered by 20 members of staff including: gardening, netball, multi-sports, nature activities, archery, rounders, board games, mindfulness and history. It is important to us to ensure that the children in our school have the right to play and relax by doing things like sports, music and drama (Article 31). Thank you.

Attendance for the Previous Week

Class with the Best Attendance – Giraffes (99.1%)

Assemblies

The theme of our assembly next week will be on: What do we all need to do to stay healthy? (UNRC Link: Article 24 I have the right to the best possible health and care).  Resources related to this assembly will soon be available on our website.  To access them, simply go to Learning and click on our Enquiry Based Assemblies.

Non-Uniform Day

Two of our parents are busy raising money for some very worthwhile charities and we are pleased we are able to hold a non-uniform day on Friday 30th April 2021 to help support their fundraising efforts.  Mr Ward is taking part in Forces Carp Classic UK, a fishing competition raising money for Suffolk Mind and Mrs Williams will be running the London Marathon, raising money for Make-a-Wish.  If your child would like to wear non-uniform that day please consider giving a donation which will be split equally for these two great causes.  Thank you for your support and good luck to Mr Ward and Mrs Williams in all their efforts.

Year 6 Hoodies

A reminder to parents of our Year 6 children to please contact the office to confirm if you give permission for your child to have their name on the Year 6 hoodies and if you would like to order one.  More information is available on this link:  https://www.whcps.org/14-04-2021-year-6-leaver-hoodies/

Purple Man Reading Awards

We are pleased to confirm that the winners of the Purple Man award last week were Tigers and Foxes.  Well done to both classes.

Drop off / Collecting Children

Can we please remind parents/carers that according to our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, only one adult should come onto the school site to either drop off or pick up the children (this includes high school children/teenagers). Also, please do continue to social distance so we can keep everyone safe.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Covid-19 Testing

In addition, please be aware that as per Government guidance, all parents/carers are entitled to receive lateral flow tests which can be taken at home to identify any non-symptomatic cases of Covid-19.  You can either go along to the Copdock or Portman Road testing sites and request a lateral flow kit or you can order them at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests and they will be delivered to your home.  Tests should be completed twice a week, 3 to 4 days apart, and all results must be reported to NHS Track and Trace.  Instructions on how to report the result are in the test kits.

Wonderful Displays in KS1

We are extremely proud of the effort the children have put into their work – well done.
