Dear Parent/Carer,
As part of our PE curriculum we provide our Upper KS2 pupils (Yr5) the opportunity to learn and develop their swimming skills, in line with the requirements of the Primary PE National Curriculum. It is our aim that ALL of our pupils will access swimming lessons during their time at Whitehouse Community Primary School.

Week 1 | Friday 10th January 2025 | Week 7 | Friday 28th February 2025 |
Week 2 | Friday 17th January 2025 | Week 8 | Friday 7th March 2025 |

Week 4 | Friday 31st January 2025 | Week 10 | Friday 21st March 2025 |

We will be leaving school at 1:00pm, allowing us time to travel to the venue and adequate changing time for a prompt start to the swimming lesson at 1:30pm. We aim to return to at around 3:15pm.
If your child has permission to walk home on their own, they will be sent home from the classroom as we arrive back at school providing they have written permission to do so (please complete attached slip). If your child is normally collected from school, please arrange to collect your child from the Jaguars classroom at the slightly later time of 3:15pm.
Your child will need – either a one-piece swimming costume for girls or swimming trunks or tight swimming shorts for boys (NOT LOOSE SHORTS), a towel and swimming hat (essential). Please remember that aerosol deodorants and talcum powder are not permitted in the Fore Street changing rooms. Please also ensure that your child is not wearing any jewellery that day. Swimming hats are available to purchase from the school office at £1.10 each. If your child is well enough for school, but not well enough to swim, a letter from you explaining this is required.
We would appreciate you ensuring that your child is fully equipped every week as this makes for a time-efficient and productive afternoon for everyone involved!
Thank you.
Mr L Jordan (PE Specialist / Teacher)
