Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 108
Friday 20th September 2019
Message from Mrs Hall
It has been great to see so many children sign up for one of our new sports clubs this term. We are aware that the demand has been very high and Mr Jordan and Ms Salmon have worked hard to organise spaces for as many children as possible. It is our aim that all children will attend at least one club during this year, if they would like. Please can I remind parents that our clubs are a curriculum enrichment opportunity, so it is important that your child wants to attend their chosen club and that they continue to follow the golden rules. Thank you for your continued support.
School Photos
We will be having individual School Photographs taken on Monday 23rd September, so please ensure the children look their very best.
Assemblies
The theme of our assemblies for next week will be: Celebrating Nature’s Bounty: Preserving Resources. Resources related to this assembly will soon be available on our website. To access them, simply go to Learning and click on our Enquiry Based Assemblies.

School Site
Can we please remind parents/carers of a few expectations whilst they are on the school site with the children. Please can we ask that children are supervised whilst waiting to go into class in the morning and once picked up in the afternoon. Also, a reminder that children must dismount their bikes/scooters once they reach the site. These must be walked to the bike sheds to avoid any injuries being caused to either themselves or others. Lastly, a reminder that swearing on the school site is not permitted. If any reports are received of aggressive words and behaviour then further action will be taken. Thank you for your co-operation and assistance in ensuring our school remains a positive and safe environment for everyone.
Flu Immunisations
The School Nursing Team will be coming into school on Friday 15th November as part of the Annual Childhood Flu Immunisation Programme. The vaccine is given through a nasal spray and is being offered to all children from Reception through to Year 6. Parents/Carers need to confirm whether they do/do not wish their children to be given the immunisation. The link to show your consent/non-consent can be found on the following page on our website: https://www.whcps.org/11-09-2019-information-for-parents-on-flu-immunisa/. We would also ask parents/carers to carefully read the information on the website, particularly if their child is asthmatic or cannot eat gelatine. If you have any questions please contact the Schools Immunisation Programme on 0300 555 5055 or
ccs-tr.suffolkimmsteam@nhs.net.
Aldi’s Kit for School
We have started collecting the Aldi’s Kit for School stickers and
are aiming to collect at least 300. Stickers are given when you spend
at least £30 from one of the Aldi supermarkets. If you have a
sticker please pass this to your child’s teacher or to a member of the
office team. Thank you for your support.
MacMillan Coffee Afternoon / Non-Uniform Day
We are pleased to inform you that we will be holding a MacMillan Coffee Afternoon on Friday 27th September. Parents/Carers are invited to come into school from 2.00pm to have cake and a drink and are welcome to bring the children in for a snack after they have been collected from school. We will be taking a donation for the cake and drinks, and the money will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support. If any parent/carer would be able to bake us a cake or some snacks for the event this would be gratefully accepted, please just let a member of the Office Team know. Thank you for your support – we look forward to seeing you!
Please note we will also be holding a non-uniform day on the same day and children can wear their choice of clothes for a donation. All money raised will go to MacMillan Cancer Support.
