Year 3 Parental Involvement
Guided Reading Lesson on Thursday 26th March 2.30pm
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are delighted to invite all the Year 3 parents/carers into school to share a guided reading lesson on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 2.30pm linked to our history topic on the Romans. The children will be reading a Roman myth comprehension text and exploring how the story connects to what they are learning about Roman life, including soldiers, settlements, and daily routines.
During guided reading session, your child will develop their comprehension skills by answering questions together. They will practise retrieving information from the text, learning the meaning of new vocabulary, making predictions, and explaining characters’ thoughts and actions using evidence. We will also focus on reading with fluency and expression.
The project showcase will follow afterwards when they share their enquiry homework in their classes, and share their work from the enquiry lessons.
Please come to Waterford Road entrance at 2.30pm where we will sign you in and take you to your child’s class. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
Please note for safeguarding reasons you will not be allowed to use your mobile phone whilst you are on the school site.
