Year 6 - Walton-on-the-Naze Educational Centre visit
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are writing to inform you about an exciting trip we have organised for Year 6 at the start of next half-term, in connection with our Geography topic on the coasts. We have booked a trip to Walton-on-the-Naze which includes a visit to the educational centre on the clifftop. During the visit, children will learn about the coastal defences, look at the difference between managed and unmanaged beaches and study fossils found on the beach. The trip dates are:
Tuesday 24th February 2026 (Toucans and Ocelots)
Wednesday 25th February 2026 (Tigers and Chameleons)
The coach will depart school at 9:00am and leave Walton-on-the-Naze at 2:30pm. We aim to return to school by 4:00pm, although we will provide updates on the day in case of traffic delays.
As most of the day will be spent outdoors, children may attend school in non-school uniform. Please ensure they wear warm, comfortable clothing that can get wet, along with suitable footwear. Children may bring a spare pair of shoes (preferably wellies) and socks if they wish.
Your child will also need a packed lunch and a drink on the day. Please indicate on the attached permission form if you wish to order a lunch from the kitchen.
The cost of the trip is a voluntary contribution of £15, which covers coach travel and admission. No child will be excluded if parents are unable to contribute; however, contributions help us continue to offer valuable learning experiences. Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated.
At Whitehouse, we value educational visits as they enhance learning and provide first-hand experiences. This trip forms part of the curriculum, and we expect all children to attend. If you have any concerns, please contact us to discuss these.
Consent and payment can be made via Arbor, or alternatively by completing the attached form and returning it to the office with payment.
