Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 317
Friday 18th July 2025
A Message from Miss Siddall:
We hope that you enjoyed reading your child’s annual report. We are extremely proud of the children and how hard they have worked to achieve their very best this year. In particular, I would like to congratulate our fabulous Year 6 children who put on an amazing production of ‘Star Warts’ on Wednesday. Thank you to all the staff and families for supporting the children in this wonderful achievement. All clubs have now finished for this year and I would to thank all the staff for giving up their time to offer these super opportunities for the children. There will be one final newsletter on the last of term (Tuesday 22nd July) which will include this year’s Governor awards. Thank you.
Attendance for the previous week:
Class with the best attendance: Giraffes (99.09%)
Assemblies
The theme of our assemblies for next week will be Safety in the Summer Holiday. (UNRC: Article 19 – I have the right to be protected from being hurt or badly treated). You may want to talk to your child about the things you have planned for the holiday for your family and how you can all help each other be safe.
Inclusive Visit by The Bridge School
Over the course of the past two years we have been fortunate to develop our links with The Bridge School with children from both schools enjoying opportunities to share time and events together. Last week we welcomed children from The Bridge School to Whitehouse where they took part in an Inclusive PE event led by some of our Year 5 Sports Leaders and planned by Mr Jordan. Children from both schools participated in various playground games which were embraced and enjoyed by all! A big thank you and well done to our super Sports Leaders. All of the children then participated in a shared session of reading, puzzles and games followed by drinks and biscuits. The children from The Bridge also had the opportunity to watch some of the dress rehearsal for the Year 6 production of ‘Star Warts’ – they thoroughly enjoyed the performance!
Awards
As you may be aware, the children are encouraged to follow ‘The Whitehouse Way’ in school to help them in their learning and in becoming good citizens. Our ‘Wonderful Week’ awards this year will be given as a recognition that the children have worked very hard in one of these areas: Courage, Perseverance, Reflection or Responsibility. This is shown in the colour coded lists below. We are so proud of our children at Whitehouse and their wonderful achievements. Well done to you all.

Celebrating our Children
This week we are pleased to celebrate two of our children who have been attending a dance school. Ava, in Year 1 has received her first medal and Mila in Year 2 has now celebrated receiving her third medal. The girls have been attending lessons for a little while and are learning both slow and disco routines. Both are enjoying it very much. Well done girls, we know your Mums are super proud of your achievements and so are we!
Wake Up & Walk Event 2025
The beginning of this week saw the return of our annual Daily Mile inspired ‘Wake Up & Walk’ event. The event, organised by Mr Jordan, encouraged pupils, parents and carers to take part in a 2 lap walk around the KS2 field before school. As with previous years, there was a fantastic turn out by both pupils and parents/carers with an impressive 209 pupils and 98 parents/carers taking part across the KS1 and KS2 events. It was fantastic to see so many of our school community enjoying the physical, mental and social benefits from the early morning exercise. Mr Jordan would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped to make our ‘Wake Up & Walk’ event another massive success! As a result of the success of the event, and the positive feedback received following the events, Mr Jordan is planning to organise an increased number of ‘Wake Up & Walk’ events throughout next year!
School Games Sports Mark Success: WE DID IT!
At the beginning of last week Mr Jordan submitted our application for this year's School Games Sports Mark. As with previous year’s, the School Games Sports Mark is awarded to schools based firstly upon their level of engagement and participation with the School Games programme (Sports events, tournaments, festivals etc.). Additionally, the award also recognises the opportunities, participation/engagement and the quality of the school’s PE and sport provision (PE curriculum, after school clubs etc.). We are pleased to say that we were again successful in achieving a School Games Gold Sports Mark Award! However, as this was the fourth consecutive year that our school has achieved a Gold award, we were automatically eligible and invited to also apply for the highest School Games Sport Mark Award (Platinum). This involved Mr Jordan completing and submitting a case study to be externally verified based upon the delivery and impact of our PE provision.
We are immensely proud and overjoyed to announce that all our hard work, effort and the high-quality delivery of our PE provision has been rewarded and recognised. As a result, our school has been awarded with the highest School Games Sports Mark Award as we have been awarded the School Games Platinum Sports Mark Award! Mr Jordan would like to take this opportunity to thank our pupils for their efforts and enthusiasm during PE lessons, for those that been involved in any of the after-school sports clubs and/or have represented our school in any fixtures, competitions/events or festivals. A thank you to staff for all their hard work and support in ensuring that our pupils receive a high-quality PE provision. Lastly, Mr Jordan would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents/carers for all of their continued support with our PE provision.
Well done everyone on a very well deserved and fantastic achievement!
