Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin
Friday 21st November 2025
A Message from Miss Siddall:
I have already seen some amazing homework projects being sent into school or shared via tapestry. Thank you for your ongoing support with our enquiry curriculum. Our next project showcases are on Tuesday 16th December 2025 (YR, Y2, Y4 and Y6) and Thursday 18th December 2025 (YN, Y1, Y3 and Y5). The children are always proud of the work they produce and the project showcase events give the children the opportunity to share all of their related topic work with the visitors. This will include a range of reading, writing, geography, history, music, art, DT and computing. We look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for your support.
Attendance for the previous week:
Class with the best attendance: Starfish (98.99%)
Christmas Jumper Day
We are excited to let you know we will be joining in with Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 12th December. Children (and staff) are invited to come into school that day wearing their favourite festive jumper or a Christmas themed accessory. We are suggesting a £1.00 donation, which will go directly to Save the Children to help support children around the world. Please note, children will not be penalised if they choose not to contribute or wear a jumper. Thank you for your support and festive spirit!
Year 3: Stone Age
Last week in Year 3 we enjoyed a visit from the Prehistoric Experience Company. The children were able to share what they already know about the Stone Age with our visitors, and learnt more about the three periods of the Stone Age. They experienced a real fire being created and saw how a fish would have been cooked on it. They especially enjoyed having the opportunity to look at some real artefacts and blow a Stone Age horn! The children's behaviour and enthusiasm were fantastic, well done Year 3.
Assemblies
The theme of our assemblies this week was World Kindness Day and Antibullying Week (UNRC: Article 19: I have the right to be protected from being hurt or badly treated). Why not do a random act of kindness as a family this week? You could bake cookies as a treat for a neighbour or send someone a thank you card.
Awards
As you may be aware, the children are encouraged to follow ‘The Whitehouse Way’ in school to help them in their learning and in becoming good citizens. Our ‘Wonderful Week’ awards this year will be given as a recognition that the children have worked very hard in one of these areas: Courage, Perseverance, Reflection or Responsibility. This will be shown in the colour coded lists below. We are so proud of our children at Whitehouse and their wonderful achievements. Well done to you all.

EYFS / Key Stage 1 Library Sessions
Each week there is a Library Session which takes place after school on a Thursday. It is open to parents/carers of children in Nursery, EYFS and KS1. Parents/Carers can come along with their child to change their library book, but they are also welcome to stay a little longer and share a story or two in the library. Please enter and exit the building via the Blue Meeting Room (the small gate next to the main office). A member of staff will be ready to welcome you and your child and direct you to the library where our Librarian, Mrs Balaam, will be available to help you select a suitable book and answer any questions about our libraries in school.

Guidance for a Healthy Packed Lunch
We all know how important a good, healthy diet is for our children as this not only helps their physical bodies but also enables their minds to be alert and improves their learning ability. Some of our children like to bring their own packed lunch into school and we would always encourage parents/carers to ensure this is as healthy and balanced lunch as possible. Please see below some guidance on what to include:
