04-06-2026 Year 5 Tudor Walk (Group 2)

3rd June 2026

Year 5 – Ipswich Tudor Walk (Group 2)

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are writing to inform you about an exciting trip we have organised for Year 5 this half-term, in connection with our history topic on the Tudors.  We have booked a fascinating trip to Ipswich town centre. During the trip, children will visit Christchurch Park and head out into the town centre to explore its Tudor history and complete a range of activities. The trip will take place on Monday 6th July.

The coach will be departing school at 11:30am. The children will be returning to the school at approximately 3:00pm. Your child will require a packed lunch, drink (no glass bottles, sweets or fizzy drinks please) and a snack.  Please indicate on the attached permission form if you wish to order a lunch from the kitchen.

For this visit, your child will need to wear their usual school uniform with comfortable footwear (e.g. trainers – not sandals / open toe shoes please).  We will be outside for the whole visit so your child will need to be prepared for either wet weather or sunshine - please pack a waterproof coat and a sun hat.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience history in their local area.

The cost of the trip is a voluntary contribution of £5, which covers coach travel. No child will be excluded if parents are unable to contribute; however, contributions help us continue to offer valuable learning experiences. Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated.

At Whitehouse, we value educational visits as they enhance learning and provide first-hand experiences. This trip forms part of the curriculum, and we expect all children to attend. If you have any concerns, please contact us to discuss these.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards

Mr Trimmer, Miss Clifton and Mr Christopher.
