Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 351

Whitehouse Weekly Bulletin 351

Friday 5th June 2026

A Message from Miss Siddall:

It has been a wonderfully busy first week back in school. Today, we have a very special day focused on 'thinking about thinking', which we hope the children will thoroughly enjoy and find really engaging.  As I am sure you are aware, this time of year is always so busy in school. Unfortunately, we've had to postpone a couple of events due to the recent bad weather. Our sports days have been rescheduled for 16th and 17th June and the Year 3 Rabbits trip has also been postponed. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding with these changes.  Do check the dates section of this newsletter so that you or your children do not miss out on all the planned activities. We look forward to seeing many of you at our rescheduled sports day events.  Thank you again for your continued support.

Year 3: DT Curriculum

Their last lesson was about Denmark and as you can see they had loved designing and making Danish sandwiches called smørrebrød.

Upcoming Events (School)

Thank you to all those parents/carers who came along to our PFA Summer Fair meeting last week. Ms Salmon is thrilled to announce with all the help offered the summer fair will be going ahead after school on Friday 3rd July.  We are in need of raffle prizes, so if you would like to kindly donate a prize, or have any contacts with local companies who would be willing to donate, please let Ms Salmon or the school office know.  This would be very gratefully received.

If anyone else would like to be involved in the planning or helping on the day, it is not too late, just let the school office know so we can put you in touch with Ms Salmon.

Local Community Farm Visits

A number of our year groups have been studying an element of farming as part of their curriculum this year, including where food comes from, or a look at the various animals who live there.  So, we thought you might be interested in a couple of local farming events taking place.  Shimpling Farm, where our Year 2 children visited, are holding a ‘Soil to Feast’ event this weekend (Saturday 6th June), more details are on the poster below. Please be aware there is a cost to attend this event. Meanwhile, closer to home Oak House Farm in Sproughton will also be holding an event this weekend (Sunday 7th June) which is offering free entry.  Both have a range of activities on offer for all the family.
