Free School Meals
Dear Parent/Carer,
From September 2026 there will be changes to the process of checking eligibility for Free School Meal applications.
Currently if you apply for Free School Meals and you are successful your child is guaranteed to have free school meals until they leave Primary School at the end of Year 6. We have been informed that after 1st September 2026 this will change and your children would be subject to ongoing checks and if your circumstances change you may no longer be eligible and free school meals would stop.
Eligibility for Free School Meals will be extended to all families in receipt of Universal Credit which will allow more families to receive Free School Meals. We are asking all families to please complete and return these forms, no matter which benefits you may or may not receive to ensure we capture everyone who may be eligible.
Please therefore complete the attached form and return to school as soon as possible, to ensure eligibility is in place for the new academic year.
All children in EYFS and KS1 will continue to receive Universal Free School Meals and will not be required to pay for meals. We do ask families to still apply if their children are in these year groups as the school will receive additional funding which will be used to support the children’s learning.
