Year 6 – Trip to Mersea
Dear Parents/Carers,
Leaving Whitehouse is a big step for our children and we know many of our Year 6 children were disappointed that the planned Mersea Residential Trip had to be cancelled.
We are therefore delighted to let you know that we have been able to arrange for Year 6 to take part in a visit to the Mersea site for a day where they will be able to enjoy many of the activities that they had been looking forward to.
The trip will be for all Year 6 children, whether they had planned to attend the Residential Trip or not and will take place over two days as follows:
Tigers and Toucans: Thursday 24th June 2021
Chameleons and Ocelots: Friday 25th June 2021
The trip will be slightly longer than the normal school day. We will leave school at 8.00am and return by approximately 5.00pm. Your child will require a packed lunch, drink (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please) and a snack. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals please indicate on the attached form if you would like us to provide a school packed lunch.
The cost per child is a voluntary contribution of £15.00 which will help cover the cost of the trip and coach travel.
Please return the attached consent form by Thursday 27th May 2021. Payment can either be sent into school in a sealed envelope (marked with the child’s name and ‘Mersea Trip’) or can be paid online at: https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/children-families-and-learning/schools/school-meals-uniforms-and-trips/pay-for-a-school-trip/.
We hope our Year 6 children will enjoy being able to celebrate together the time they have spent at Whitehouse and this day will provide some happy memories.
