Year 6 – Trip to Essex Outdoors Mersea
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are delighted to let you know that we have been able to arrange for Year 6 to take part in a visit to Essex Outdoors where they will be able to enjoy many of the activities, as part of their end of year events.
The trip will take place over two days as follows:
Ocelots, Tigers and half of Macaws* will visit Monday 26th June 2023
Chameleons, Toucans and half of Macaws* will visit Tuesday 27th June 2023
*we will advise nearer the time which half of Macaws are visiting on which day.
The trip will be slightly longer than the normal school day. We will leave school at 8.00am and return by approximately 5.00pm. Your child will require a packed lunch, drink (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please) and a snack. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals please indicate on the attached form if they would like this.
This is an outdoor activity-based trip where the children take part in a number of activities designed to build their confidence and encourage teamwork. Potential activities include abseiling, canoeing, crate climbing, raft building, archery, quad biking and many more fun activities.
The cost per child is a voluntary contribution of £40.00 which will help cover the cost of the trip and coach travel. This can be paid in £10.00 instalments and the first payment will be due on the 24th of the month beginning this month and ending in June.
Please return the attached consent form by 5th June 2023. Payment can either be sent into school in a sealed envelope (marked with the child’s name and ‘Mersea Trip’) or can be paid via the Arbor app.
We hope our Year 6 children will enjoy being able to celebrate together the time they have spent at Whitehouse and these days will provide some happy memories.
Thank you for your continued support.
With regards
Mr J Christopher
