Year 6 Production
Dear Parents/Carers,
As you are aware, we have forged ahead with our plans for a year 6 production this year in the hope of providing the children with this well-earned opportunity to celebrate the end of their time at Whitehouse after what has been a challenging past two years in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic. The children have been working extremely hard, in an adapted and Covid-19 safe manner to prepare for their production of The Pirates of the Curry Bean. Rehearsals are coming together nicely and the show promises to be entertaining, amusing and filled with singing and dancing.
With the Government announcement that the current level of Covid-19 restrictions will remain in place until at least 19th July, we have thought carefully about how we can still provide the children with the opportunity to perform and families with the opportunity to share this special time with their child.
We have therefore made the decision to postpone the performances so that parents/carers can hopefully come along and see the children perform in the hall.
Therefore, unless further Government restrictions prevent us from doing so, we will hold the performances on Monday 19th July when hopefully the restrictions will have eased.
There will be four shows on Monday 19th July 2021 as follows:
Chameleons and Ocelots will perform at 9:00am and 4:30pm.
Tigers and Toucans will perform at 11:00am and 6:30pm.
In line with our Covid-19 risk assessment for the event and to enable us to invite parents/carers into school, tickets will be limited to one ticket per year 6 child per performance. It saddens us that we cannot have more people in the hall at one time, but our only other option is for the children not to have an audience at all. I am sure you will agree, the memorable experience of performing in a play is one we do not want to deny the children, unless we have no choice. To keep everyone as safe as possible during the performance, we request that audience members, unless you are exempt, wear a face covering.
Tickets will be sold between Monday 5th July and Monday 12th July. Please return the attached form in a named envelope to the office via your child’s class teacher together with the exact money for the tickets. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue or reserve tickets unless money is received.
Thank you for your support in enabling us to share this event with you. We look forward to seeing you at the performance!
Yours sincerely,
Mr Johnson / Mr Moore / Mr Taylor / Mrs Hawkins / Miss Siddall
