Year 6 Class Organisation
Dear Parents/Carers of children in Year 5,
I hope this letter finds you well.
We have thought very carefully about how best to support the learning of all our children, especially those in Year 5, as they approach their final year with us before their transition to high school.
Smaller class sizes enable the children to have access to more individualised teaching and so I am pleased to be able to inform you that our provision in supporting children being ready for high school includes the addition of another year 6 class from September. This will allow the year 5 children, who are currently taught in four classes, to be taught in five smaller classes in year 6. This will be hugely beneficial to the children’s learning as they embark upon their final year at primary school.
To help us organise the new classes, we will be asking the children to make a list of three friends they would like to be in a new class with. We will ask them to think very carefully about their choices and choose friends who help to support their learning and constantly demonstrate the Golden Rules and Whitehouse Way. Will we then endeavour to ensure that your child is in a class with at least one of those friends.
The children will be notified of their new class at the end of June, in preparation for the transition mornings on the 13th and 14th July when they will meet their new teacher.
